The Way We Are, and Why

Dr. Anne Boaden '67 will discuss the events of the 1960s and how being at a liberal arts college impacted students at that time. Her talk is part of the event of Homecoming weekend.

Dr. Boaden began at Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø as an English instructor in 1970. Having graduated from Moline High School, and continuing on to receive degrees with honors from Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø and the University of Chicago, Dr. Boaden has been a lifelong contributor to the Quad-Cities community as well as the campus community. 

Her teaching specializations were English literature, creative writing, Jane Austen, Charlotte Bront?, non-fiction writing and Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø history. 

In 2011, her book "Light and Leaven: Women Who Shaped Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø's First Century" was released.
