Robert Elfline, piano: Preludes and Reflections

Robert Elfine, associate professor of music, will perform the second volume of Claude Debussy's Pr¨¦ludes for piano.

2018 marks the centenary of the death of Claude Debussy.This evocative and enigmatic collection contains some of the composer¡¯s most imaginative (and challenging) portraits for solo piano.

Interspersed throughout the program will be 11 of Howard Skempton¡¯s Reflections, which will serve as both contrast and commentary on Debussy¡¯s preludes.
