Frieze Lecture: 'Beyond the View from Barbie¡¯s Beach House: Reconsidering the Waves of Feminism'

Dr. Jane Simonsen, Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø professor of history and Richard A. Swanson Chair in Social Thought, will present.

This year's Frieze Lecture Series theme is "Feminism: From Basics to Barbie." All programs involve faculty or students affiliated with Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø¡¯s Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) program and are designed to create greater insight and context related to feminism.

This is the last of four lectures in the series. The Frieze Lecture series is a 26-year partnership between the Rock Island Public Library and Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø to present four talks in the fall. Lectures are from 2-3 p.m. Tuesdays at the Rock Island Main Library, 401 19th St., Downtown Community Room.
