Augie Abroad photo contest winners

Caroline Wators was the grand prize winner for the Augie Abroad photo contest for 2018. The contest was open to all Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø students who went on a study abroad trip or term between summer of 2017 and spring break of 2018. There were four categories to submit photos into; tranquility, discovery, exchange, and energy. Submissions included snapshots of dog sledding in the Alps and wide shots of Brazilian beaches. Each category winner received a $20 gift card to iTunes while the grand prize winner received a $200 gift card to American Airlines.

Carla Bennet won the energy category for her photo taken in Nicaragua for the Nicaragua program. She is a senior from South Holland, Ill., and is majoring in biology and neuroscience.

Autumn Anderson's photo taken in Norway for Norway LC was given an honorable mention in the energy category. She is a junior from Rock Island, Ill., and is majoring in pre-medicine and psychology.

Carla Bennett won the exchange category for her photo taken in Nicaragua for the Nicaragua program. She is a senior from South Holland, Ill., and is majoring in biology and neuroscience.

Anna Tegge's photo taken in Italy for the Sevilla term was given an honorable mention in the exchange category. She is a recent graduate from Geneva, Ill., that majored in international business and political science.

Staci Ficht won the tranquility category with her photo taken in Ghana for the West Africa term. She is a senior from Markham, Ill., and is majoring in psychology and sociology.

Sydney Gilbert's photo taken in France for the London term was given an honorable mention in the tranquility category. She is a senior from Dousman, Wis., and is majoring in art history and creative writing.

Dale Charlier won the discovery category with his photo taken in Peru from the Ecuador Summer program. He is a senior from Cary, Ill., and is majoring in spanish, environmental studies, and engineering physics.

Patrick Crompton's photo taken in Switzerland for Alps LC was given an honorable mention. He is a senior from Hood River, Ore., and is majoring in engineering physics.
