Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø swears in Officer Craig Weeks

Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø promoted Public Safety Officer Craig Weeks to sworn officer of Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø¡¯s Office of Police and Public Safety March 5. 

Friends and family gathered at Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø¡¯s Hamann Concert Hall in Bergendoff Hall for the swearing in by Vice President and Dean of Student Life Dr. Wes Brooks. Dr. Brooks commended Weeks for his committed and continued service to Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø¡¯s students, faculty and staff. 

¡°Officer Weeks has honorably served Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø for nearly four years, and we¡¯re thrilled to have him continue his passion for public service at Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø,¡± said Dr. Brooks. ¡°Safety at Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø is a top priority, and we¡¯re thankful to all members of Police and Public Safety for contributing to a safe learning and working environment for all members.¡±

Officer Weeks will begin attending the part-time police academy in Springfield in April. 

Chief of Police Tom Phillis said he is proud to promote Officer Weeks. 

¡°He has a dedication and passion for protecting our community that has motivated him to want to increase his role within our department and with the college,¡± said Chief Phillis.
