Join us for the North American premiere of "Here It's a Bed of Roses," the feature fiction debut of ?a?lar ?etin-Ay?e, Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology at Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø. The film was screened at various independent film festivals worldwide and won six awards, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress. The campus community is invited to a special screening on Thursday, Nov. 30, at 7 p.m. in the Olin auditorium.

A Q&A will follow the screening. This free event is co-organized by the Departments of Sociology and Anthropology and Theatre and Film at Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø.

Synopsis: Ka?an, who once dreamt of becoming a writer, lives a lonely life as a business professor. He has not written anything for a long time. An unexpected visit from a friend shakes the foundation of his routinized life. Ka?an cannot make sense of why Bur?in showed up many years later. He feels there is a secret behind his weird silence. Bur?in attempts to motivate Ka?an to write again. While constantly resisting these attempts, Ka?an begins to have dreams about his desire for Bur?in. The tension between the two increases when a woman joins them.
