Live streaming connects Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø community
Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø¡¯s Tribe of Vikings purchased new equipment this year for streaming live athletic events, including a high-definition camera plus on-screen graphics and instant replay.
In the absence of spring athletics due to the coronavirus pandemic, the equipment now is being used to keep the Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø community connected¡ªby providing updates and broadcasting events to Vikings around the country.
On April 8, Kent Barnds, executive vice president of external relations, shared a live campus update to alumni and friends, along with a Q&A. Later this month, members of the Class of 2020 will have the chance to tune in for a live update from campus, as they wrap up their Augie experience.
The college will continue the tradition of Last Lecture and Senior Toast via live streaming on May 7. A shortened commencement ceremony also will be live-streamed on May 23.
The following Tribe of VIking donors enabled the college to improve its streaming capabilities, which have proven to be so valuable in recent weeks.
They are: David '69 and Nancy '70 Moe, Don '53 and Francis '56 Johnson, Bob '70 and Marilyn Pritchard, Mike '88 and Jill McGraw, and Kyle Ekberg '09 and Aleeza Singh.
