
Pianist Han found teaching at Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø an easy decision
Dr. Juliana Han traveled a long and winding road to her new job as assistant professor of music at Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø.
A Cincinnati inner-city native whose parents are from Taiwan, Han started piano lessons at age 5. She earned a bachelor¡¯s degree in biochemistry and a law degree from Harvard University, a master¡¯s degree from the Manhattan School of Music, and master¡¯s and doctorate degrees in music from the world-renowned Juilliard School.
¡°I was pretty picky in the postings I wanted to apply to,¡± Han said. ¡°This one caught my eye ¡ª music in a liberal-arts setting. I had grown up in that; music at Harvard was the reason I fell in love with music.
¡°This really appealed to me. I knew students were open-minded, wanted music as part of their lives,¡± she said of Augie. ¡°When I came on campus, I felt very supported, and I liked everybody here."
