
Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø celebrates faculty promotions and tenure

The Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Flute Choir is a chamber ensemble of flutists which makes use of the entire flute family: piccolo, flute, alto flute and bass flute.
Founded by Janet Stodd in 1988, the ensemble performs concerts under her direction every term, both on and off campus.
Favorite performances include the annual Joy of Christmas event in Andover, Illinois, and the annual St. Patrick's Day Concert. The Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Flute Choir has performed at the Iowa Flute Festival and the IMEA festival in Peoria, Illinois.
The ensemble rehearses once a week. Students can register for either credit or noncredit. The Flute Choir usually includes 12 flutists who also take lessons and perform in band or orchestra.

Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø's Dr. Jon Hurty has received the Harold A. Decker Award from the Illinois Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association in recognition of his exceptional leadership and contributions to choral music.
Members of Phi Mu Alpha¨CZeta Beta sang love songs to surprised students, faculty and staff in classrooms and offices across campus on Valentine¡¯s Day. The music fraternity rehearsed for months, and delivered no fewer than 100 vocal valentines.
