The campus community is invited.\n\nThe gift honors the legacy of Eileen Carpenter's uncle\, Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Professor Emeritus Clarence ¡°Chad¡± Meyer ¡¯51\, who died in 1993.\n\nHe graduated from Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø with a bachelor of arts degree in speech. He graduated with a master's degree in public speaking and theater from Northwestern University\, Evanston. Meyer also did graduate work at Stanford University in radio and television \;and at Yale University in drama.\n\nMeyer joined the Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø faculty in 1953. \;He was promoted to associate professor in 1964. \;In 1990\, he retired as professor emeritus in speech communications. Alumni may remember that he taught debate\, persuasion and theatre arts in earlier years.\n\nHe also produced "Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø \;Presents\," a weekly show on Rock Island's WHBF-TV which featured academic \;departments and various activities on campus.
