Why Å·ÖÞ±ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø?

I chose Å·ÖÞ±ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø because of the opportunity to be a part of the school's first women's water polo team, and because when I visited, I knew this was an institution where I could balance academic excellence with athletics. I also loved the sense of community that I felt just from my short visit to campus.

Are you where you thought you'd be when you first came to campus?

Absolutely not! Not only has our water polo team been crowned back-to-back conference champions, but I was also named an Academic All-American in 2024. These accomplishments really put into perspective just how much I have grown since coming to Å·ÖÞ±ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø.

Who helped you get to where you are now?

My coaches and my teammates have made such a big impact on me. We have such a supportive team culture, and I have always felt that they wanted me to succeed.

The entire history department has also had such a positive impact on my growth as a student and helped me become the intellectual thinker I am today.

Peak experience?

My peak experience at Augie was hosting the USA Water Polo Division III National Championship in 2023. Having the opportunity for such an important event to take place in our home pool was an amazing experience, and it speaks to how amazing our athletic department is.

What surprised you?

I was surprised by how easy it is to balance so many different things here at Augie. Beyond just being a student-athlete, I really appreciate that Augie allows you to balance your interests as well by allowing you to take classes in different disciplines.

How did you use your Augie Choice?

I used my Augie Choice to help fund my summer research experience at the Texas Medical Center!

What will you miss the most?

I will miss the close-knit community at Augie the most. Between my classes, athletics and being a peer tutor, I have met so many amazing people who have made an impact on my life here.

It's been a real privilege to attend a school where so many people want to see you grow and succeed. It's impossible to walk across campus without seeing a kind face!

Advice for the Class of 2029?

Explore your interests, no matter what they may be! I ended up with two minors just because I pursued the things I was interested in, and I'm so glad I did.

"Charlotte has been a joy to teach and interact with. As someone who sets tremendously high standards for herself, she has shown an unfailing drive towards excellence, along with the self-discipline and skills to accomplish whatever she has set her sights on. In a way that is unobtrusive but impossible to miss, she inspires by pursuing exacting academic efforts in diverse areas, while also striving and achieving in athletics. I can't say enough to do her justice!"
