Reynard Benschop will lead the college¡¯s Office of Student Life and Leadership (OSL), which hosts events and experiences that complement Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø¡¯s classroom learning and leads the way in engaging students in campus life.

Augie Abroad Photo Contest 2023-2024 winners announced
Emma Watts '25 was the grand prize winner for the Augie Abroad photo contest for 2023-2024. The contest was open to all Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø students who went on a study abroad trip or term between summer 2023 and spring break 2024.

Frere '26 named Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø's 179th Academic All-American
This is the second consecutive year Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø has been represented on an Academic All-American team. Charlotte Frere, a biology and kinesiology double major from Preemption, Ill., won the national DIII title this past season in the discus and has a 3.94 GPA.

Boelens relocating families from Ukraine to Iowa
When Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø business faculty member Angela Boelens ran out of space to sponsor Ukrainian families, she started a not-for-profit, IA NICE. So far, IA NICE has brought 18 families to Iowa, and their communities welcome their impact.

First APEP student earns diploma

LaGow '77 memorial scholarship and departmental gift help music education students excel
Music education was always close to the heart of Michael LaGow '77. He studied music education at Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø and played flute in the Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Symphonic Band. Following his graduation, he continued his passion for music education by teaching flute lessons and playing in local music ensembles. LaGow passed away in 2022, and his love for Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø music education continued with a surprise estate gift directed to support the music education department.
