Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø, Huazhong celebrate 36-year (and still going) teacher exchange program

Huazhong (Central China) Normal University in Wuhan recently hosted a celebration of the 36th anniversary of the signing of its teacher exchange agreement with Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø. Professor Emeritus of Geography Dr. Norm Moline  ¡¯64, who attended the 1988 agreement signing, was part of the Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø delegation at the celebration.

Students explore, reflect, even rest during 2025 J-term classes

During January term (J-term), Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø students take a step back from their usual 15-week semester schedule to engage in a month-long period of concentrated, in-depth learning ¡ª in classes on campus or another country.

Football standout Smith '26 named Academic All-American

Vikings football team captain Breyden Smith  ¡¯26 was named an Academic All-American today, bringing Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø¡¯s total to 184 and securing its Top 15 ranking among all U.S. colleges and universities.

The Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Symphonic Band, directed by Dr. James Lambrecht, will tour the East Coast in March. The ensemble will perform in three cities from March 24-28, then conclude with a home concert on April 5.

This year's theme is "Continuing the Legacy: Service, Justice and Action." Events take place Jan. 20-24, including a keynote panel discussion with community leaders on Jan. 20. 

Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø welcomes Fulbright Hildeman Scholar Elina Nilsson

Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø was selected by the Swedish Fulbright Commission to host the 2024-25 Fulbright Hildeman Fellow. Scholar Dr. Elina Nilsson will teach a course for students in the Scandinavian studies program for the spring semester.

2024 brought opportunities for engaged learning with an expansion of Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø's Augie Choice program, a grant supporting the development of a business-liberal arts scholars program and the unveiling of a new state-of-the-art film production facility.

The Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Choir, under the direction of Dr. Jon Hurty, will perform concerts in Nebraska, Colorado and Kansas March 22-28, followed by a home concert on April 5 in Davenport.

Anonymous donor pays tuition balances for 18 students

This is the third consecutive year an anonymous donor has cleared the end-of-semester tuition balances of Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø students, with this year¡¯s gift of $50,000 benefitting 18 students.
