For transfer students nationwide, the struggle is real. Not at Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø, who welcomed the greatest number of new transfer students in 20 years this fall.

Frieze Lectures to examine democracy beginning Oct. 24
This year's Frieze Lectures, a partnership between the Rock Island Public Library and the faculty of Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø, will include four presentations related to "Democracy in America." The series will wrap up shortly after the Nov. 5 general election, in which voters will elect the President, 34 U.S. Senators and all 435 Members of Congress.

Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø awarded $105,000 to launch business-liberal arts scholars program
Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø will enroll students in its inaugural Business Education Steeped in the Liberal Arts (BESLA) cohort in fall 2025. Business administration majors enrolling in BESLA will pursue a second major or minor in the traditional liberal arts.
Gwaltney ¡¯84 elected to Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø¡¯s Board of Trustees
Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø announces the election of Brent Gwaltney ¡¯84 to the college¡¯s Board of Trustees. Gwaltney has spent the majority of his three-decade career involved in the management, construction, operation, and financing of world-scale petrochemical facilities.

Alumni and families to celebrate Homecoming and Family Weekend
Thousands will gather on campus this weekend, Oct. 4-6, for Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø¡¯s Homecoming/Family Weekend. Reunion dinners and gatherings; bingo for graduates of the last decade; music recitals and concerts; open houses; a picnic on the Quad; and family programming are planned.

Toasting the 2024 class of Forty Under 40
More than 400 attended the event hosted by the Quad Cities Regional Business Journal. Among this year¡¯s honorees were Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø alumni: Jacob Bobbitt ¡¯09, Avery Pearl '18, Angie Sharp '08 and Lucie Van Hecke '10.
