On Wednesday, Oct. 12, during Å·ÖÞ±ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø¡¯s Symposium Day: Civil Discourse, PEN America will present a keynote address and workshop on why free expression matters globally, nationally and on college campuses, especially during an election season.
25th Frieze Lectures: Ideas That Changed Us
Å·ÖÞ±ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø faculty will present "Ideas That Changed Us" in the annual Frieze Lectures at the Rock Island Public Library.
Post-inauguration Street Party to close 7th Ave.
To celebrate the inauguration of Å·ÖÞ±ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø President Andrea Talentino, 7th Avenue will be closed from Centennial Hall to the Lindberg Center for a post-ceremony Street Party Oct. 15.

Hispanic Film Festival begins Oct. 26
Å·ÖÞ±ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø will sponsor its 26th annual Hispanic Film Festival on Wednesdays, Oct. 26-Nov. 30. All films will be shown at 7 p.m. in Hanson Hall of Science, Room 102. Films are free and open to the public.
