U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin praised the Class of 2022 for its resilience but admonished graduates that "democracy demands your active involvement" at Sunday's Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø commencement.

Augie artists in Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Invitational May 26-Aug. 28
The work of seven Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø students will be included in the 12 annual Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Invitational, opening May 26 at the Figge Art Museum, Davenport, Iowa.
Jenny Lind winner to perform June 9-10
The winner of Sweden¡¯s Jenny Lind Scholarship Competition, soprano Tessan-Maria Lehmussaari, accompanied by pianist Silja Levander, will perform June 9 in Moline and June 10 in Andover, Ill.

Accounting¡¯s Nadia Schwartz wins state teaching award
Nadia Schwartz, associate professor of accounting, has been named an Illinois CPA Society Outstanding Educator. She is Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø's third current faculty member to have received the honor.

The Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Board of Trustees unanimously has voted to rename Founders Hall in honor of President Steve Bahls and Jane Bahls.

Senior Honors Celebration May 21

Choir headed for Germany, Czech Republic to perform
The Å·ÖÞ±ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Choir will perform in Germany and the Czech Republic during a tour May 24-June 7.

Physics scholarship winner loves figuring out how things work
Junior Amanda Gravelle has been awarded a $5,000 Rossing Physics Scholarship. She is one of only 14 exemplary physics students nationwide to receive the award.
